The Homestead guide
Systems, not projects
A homestead is not a collection of projects. It is a set of systems that feed one another: chickens turn kitchen scraps into eggs and manure, the manure feeds the compost, the compost feeds the beds, and the beds feed the kitchen again.
This pillar is about those connections, and about the practical side of keeping them running. Which tools are worth buying once. How many hens a household actually needs. What a first year with bees really involves, including the parts that go wrong.
If you are planning land from scratch, start with the homestead planning guides. They will save you from building things in the wrong order.
