Unplotted Life is an independent resource for growing, preserving, collecting water, making power and running a home that relies a little less on everyone else. Researched carefully, written plainly, and honest about how long things take.
The name
Why “unplotted”?
To be unplotted is to be unmapped: outside the route that was drawn for you in advance. Most of our readers recognise the feeling. They have followed the conventional steps, and somewhere along the way the life they were building stopped feeling like theirs.
We are not here to tell anyone to quit their job and buy a farm. We are here for the quieter decision that comes first: to start doing a few things for yourself, and to keep going. No doomsday, no picture-perfect homestead. Just a different direction, taken one practical step at a time.

Does it belong on a working homestead?
That is the only question a product has to answer before it appears on this site. Durability, repairability and real usefulness count for more than features or price. If something fails that test, it does not get a link, however well it sells.
